What is a good workout to shed pounds, besides running?

I have never been a long distance runner. Even when I was in High School playing sports and in the best shape of my life, I could never run long distances.
I am wanting to loose about 15 pounds of baby weight that I have had for the last…. five years. haha. terrible, i know. :P
Any good suggestions or experiences on shedding pounds besides monotnous running?
I also do not want to join a gym as of yet. Fees are too high.
