I\’d like to start out by saying that the information in this article is simply my opinion which is based on the information I have read regarding health and from more than a decade of living and eating the way I have daily. Couple that with my blood work done twice each year that reveals no deficiencies, I think this information is valid. Possible it works just for me, my genetic makeup and my body type, I can\’t say for sure. However, just like cigarette smoke definitely will have an affect on each of us with various degrees of health negatives, green smoothies, I believe, will affect each one of us with varying degrees of health positives. Try it for yourself, after talking about it with a naturopath or other doctor initially of course.

The body is supposed to be equipped to heal naturally right? If that\’s the case, why are people sick? Maybe that is incorrect and the human body really isn\’t equipped for natural healing? No! The problem is that men and women a) don\’t give it with the proper amount of tools, by way of diet for the most part, it needs to reset itself and b) we constantly bombard our body with crap that hinders the operation of the small amount of proper resources that we actually do give it.

I\’m a big admirer of the raw food lifestyle. To suggest that adding heat to food above a certain temperature destroying required enzymes that are significant to assimilation makes sense to me. Beyond that, it is suggested that to get the most out of our foods we must chew it until it disappears. We have troubles handling large morsels of food. Also, I really feel that people can survive and thrive with a a diet of mainly fruits and green vegetables, with of course some healthy fats. In regards to healthy fats, avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I generally consume.

The main foods I have every single day are composed of sufficient amounts of raw fruits and green vegetables in the form of green smoothies. Being that they are in a liquid state, my body has no issues assimilating the nutrients.

A giant hurdle for most people when changing the way they eat, and a huge one for myself is dealing with cravings for bad foods. Like a person that has addiction to drugs or alcohol must go through a detox in order to heal, we essentially must to do the same thing. The cells in our body are comprised of stuff from foods that we have consumed in the past. The body usually craves more of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the contents of each one of the sick cells in our body. For drug detoxes, many times, dry sauna therapy is used to removes the drugs through perspiration. This usually helps to eliminate the physical cravings allowing the individual an improved chance of remaining sober. For us, improving our eating may activate the clearing of toxic foods as well which can be quickly removed in our poop, sweat and urine. However, we still might having cravings for those foods while some of the toxins in our cells are still there.

I have found that quickly after having the first swallow of my smoothie my cravings for grease, meat, salt, etc began to subside. After I was finished drinking the smoothie, the unhealthy cravings were gone completely and I would be content. The concern then was that the unhealthy cravings would return as I grew hungry. So I started to make certain I was on top of it and would have another green smoothie prepared before the cravings would come back, or shortly after they reared their ugly heads. The cravings at last subsided for good as I became healthier. After that I began to crave greens instead!

Now, I would like to ask, do you want to stay sick and overweight or do you want to have a look at a better diet providing your body everything that it needs?
